I've had plenty of dogs in my lifetime that put some great effort into begging for table scraps. I've known plenty of dogs who have put some great effort into begging for table scraps. However, I have never seen a cat beg for table scraps, let alone anything like Gordo.
Everyday this guy is at the table, pawing at our leg, merely reminding us of his presence and his need for whatever it is we're having for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Typically once he's conned someone into giving him a bite, he's no longer interested. But, have any dairy products...he's all over it. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's dairy...he wants it. He's relatively fond of ice cream. Even has a soft spot for butter (I know...weird, and probably not good for him either).
If, by chance you happen to be enjoying a bowl of cold cereal...he'll take care of that, too. He doesn't care one way or another if it's Cookie Crisp, Cheerios, Bran Flakes, or Rice Crispies...he wants the milk. Cereal milk has got to be his biggest weakness. If I didn't know better, I'd be willing to bet if this guy had opposable thumbs, he'd have the entire jug emptied out and passed out behind a chair somewhere.
Tonight, I sat down and had myself and early dinner. Nothing fancy, some fried chicken, potatoes, corn, and a roll. Fairly simple. Half way through scarfing down my chow, I look over and who invites themselves to dinner. Of course, Gordo. Imagine his disappointment once he discovered I wasn't about to share any of my buttered up mashed potatoes, nor was I about to share any of my chicken. I don't care how cute and fluffy he tries to be, I don't care he tries pawing on my leg...I will, however, have no reservations taking him out to the street and fist fighting him for my chicken. LOL! Nice try, Gordo...nice try!
