Week Three: Straight Out Of Camera **Completed**

January 19, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

While there is still a few days left until this assignment can have a fork stuck in it, my part is done. This assignment, so far has not been my favorite. Not just because I couldn't edit once I had the image, but trying to shoot straight out of the camera as a JPEG. I don't know how some people can do it, really. Typically I shoot in RAW, post-process...and have my fun. It's part of the creative process. Without that part...it just seemed boring to me.

The first two dozen images that were taken (macro of some knick-knack), I just did not like how they were turning out. Whether there was something on the object that could have been removed during post (e.g.- dust on object, specks on glass, etc.), or the look just wasn't what I was after.

For some time now, I've been eye-balling some cool Bald Eagle/U.S. Flag book ends, and thought they might make for an interesting subject on this assignment. Now that I have my image for the assignment done...perhaps I can get my fix and play around some more with another image, or two, or three.  :-)

For those keeping score or taking notes, EXIF data below.
